Nvidia has already expanded the Turing family with the new GTX 1660 and GTX 1660 Ti, launched very recently and which are the new sensation in the mid-range for less demanding users with performance. Well, we have new information about the new Nvidia GTX 1650 that places it very close in performance to the GTX 1050 Ti according to a leaked test from the well-known Final Fantasy XV benchmark.

Nvidia GTX 1650 The replacement for the GTX 1050 Ti in Turing?

We already have enough information about the new GTX 1660 and 1660 Ti and clearly if they are above the previous GTX 1060 with Pascal architecture. In fact, the GTX 1660 is about 10 FPS above the previous average, and we can find it at a similar price today, making it the least expensive option for the manufacturer of desktop GPUs.

The trend should continue with this new GTX 1650, which would be positioned as the brand's entry-level card, which is currently the 1050 or 1050 Ti, the latter at a price of about 180 euros.

The information provided by the Final Fantasy XV benchmark places this GTX 1650 just below the GTX 1050 Ti with only a few points less. What we do not know exactly is whether the desktop card or the mobile version appears in this list, judging by those results. The test was carried out at 2K resolution (2560 x 1440p) in graphics with high quality.

In addition, there is also unofficial information that this 1650 will have a new chip different from its recently released sisters, in which case it would be called TU117, and the manufacturer would remain TSMC. It goes without saying that this GPU will not incorporate Tensor or RT cores, and a total of 896 CUDA cores could be counted. So Ray Tracing and DLSS will not be an option, nor do we expect remarkable performance when the brand's new drivers enable Ray Tracing on the Pascal and GTX architecture.

This GPU could have a clock frequency of 1485 MHz in base form and 1600 MHz in turbo mode. What is already confirmed almost safely is that the memory that will be installed will be 4 GB with a clock speed of 2000 MHz, which has been a clock frequency typical of GDDR5, and it is logical.

Judging by the results, we think that these values are somewhat low if we buy them with the old-generation 1050 Ti. We also don't know what the approximate cost of this GPU will be at the end of this month or the beginning of April. Also, if we stop to think and make the analogy, we have a card that would fit better being the substitute for the 1050, being the substitute for the 1050 Ti the 1660, right?

In any case, we hope to have this card in our hands, whatever its final version, and to see how far it can go. Although with that performance it should not be under any circumstances above 180 euros, it would not make sense. From which Pascal card do you think this GTX 1650 will be replaced? Is a GPU necessary?
