The radeon r9 380x would have 4096 shader processors
Lately there is a lot of talk about Nvidia and the imminent launch of the GTX 960 but little is said about its great rival, AMD, which is preparing its future generation of graphics cards from the Radeon R300 series.
A new leak announces that the Radeon R9 380X will arrive with an impressive 4096 Shader Processors GCN and 4GB of HBM stacked memory. Its arrival would take place between April and June.
At these specifications the card should be approximately 45% more powerful than the current Hawaii silicon-based R9 290X, considering only the number of processing cores. If we consider the improvements in architecture and the benefits of HBM memory, the performance increase could be even greater. Using HBM memory at a frequency of 1.25 GHz will provide a bandwidth of 640 GB / s, double that of the current R9 290X and triple that of the GTX 980.
