Microsoft together with different manufacturers, are preparing to launch their own virtual reality glasses and they will do so covering a wide market in terms of costs, since they prepare glasses with price ranges that start at $ 299, cheaper than a Playstation VR. Manufacturers who are developing these glasses with Microsoft's approval are HP, Lenovo, Dell, ASUS and Acer.

During the past month we discussed the hardware requirements for Microsoft's virtual reality glasses and now we have much more detailed information on the technical characteristics of the low and high range glasses.

In the image above, a comparison is made between the low and high range glasses that Windows VR will have. In the image below these lines we can clearly see the differences between these Microsoft glasses and the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive options.

As can be seen, Microsoft glasses have a higher screen resolution of 1440 × 1440 pixels and it is also OLED technology, superior to AMOLED. Microsoft's high-end glasses will have a built-in microphone and headphones, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort and USB 3.0 port, a 6DoF or 3DoF controller and also only a cable will be necessary, greatly improving comfort.

Although we know the minimum price that these glasses will have (299 dollars) we still do not know what price the most expensive options will have. They are believed to cost similar to the HTC Vive or Oculus Rift. In the next CES 2017 we can learn more about these new virtual reality glasses.
