Interestingly, ASUS was the first and the only company to have announced a personalized RX Vega card, the ROG Strix RX Vega 64, last August, with potential availability as of this September, although there are still few details about it.

Mid-October, at a minimum, could mark the arrival of custom RX Vega 64 models, according to AMD partners

In fact, some reviewers had access to the pre-production samples, but most are waiting for the final BIOS for their samples. However, it's already past mid-September and there is still no trace of the STRIX Vega, or any other custom Vega.

In this situation, the guys at Hardware.fr decided to take matters into their own hands and ask if any of the AMD partners are planning to launch or at least announce any custom model of this card. Unfortunately, the only response they received was from a manufacturer who assured that they are still waiting for the arrival of the chips, so the launch of these models will not be possible before mid-October.

Sometimes it takes weeks or even months to prepare a custom model, and although AMD partners have had access to the engineering boards since June, this period was not enough for them to release their own designs.

There is also speculation that it could be a deliberate strategy by AMD in order to boost sales of the RX Vega reference models, although others point out that the RX Vega could be experiencing some production problems.

Whatever the problem, we still don't know when these personalized cards will arrive, but we will surely see some before the end of this year.
