India is not a market in which Apple sells well, although the company has been active in it for a couple of years. But this 2019 has not started in a positive way for the sale of its iPhone. Since they have started with a 42% drop in said sales. So it is a really negative figure for the Cupertino company, which continues to lose ground in this country.

Indian iPhone sales plunge in Q1

220, 000 units of the firm's telephones were sold in this way. Although the April figures were positive, with only 200, 000 units sold in that month, thanks to discounts.

Bad sales

Apple expects to sell between 1.5 and 1.6 million units of its iPhone this year. This would already mean a drop of 10% compared to last year's figures, if their forecasts were met. Although the drop is more serious if we compare it with the 2017 figures, when they sold 3.2 million phones. So in two years its sales have plunged by 50% in India.

The brand sees how consumers are betting on Android brands in the premium segment. Firms like OnePlus are getting especially good results in India. Something that contributes to these bad sales of the company.

Apple started selling its iPhones in India in 2017. Therefore, it is surprising that in just two years, the time they have been in this market, their sales have fallen with this speed. Something that makes it clear that the firm does not finish curdling before the public in India, at least not as they expected.
