LEPA specialist in refrigeration systems, boxes and power supplies has sent us one of its most interesting products. It is the liquid cooling AquaChanger 120 with a cooling capacity of up to 350W and flexible tubes that allow its installation in compact boxes.
We appreciate the trust of LEPA and Sistemas Ibertrónica for the transfer of the product for analysis:
Technical characteristics
LEPA AquaChanger 120
LEPA makes us an excellent presentation with a compact box in which the color black and yellow predominates. On the cover we have an image of the AquaChanger 120, while on the back the most important characteristics of the product.
Once we open the box, we find everything perfectly protected and with a great coverage of accessories:
- Liquid cooling AquaChanger 120 Installation mounting kit. 120 mm fan. Thermal paste. Manual and installation guide.
Once the AquaChanger 120 was unpacked, we found an all-in-one kit (AIO) with a unique grill design. Its design is really attractive and will stick with almost any component we choose.
The processor block is built in copper by the new " Central Diffusing Passage " technology that adds micro-channels. What is your function? Basically, it increases the amount of liquid that is in contact with the processor and powers a greater cooling capacity. Inside the block it also incorporates a ceramic pump with a speed of 2100 RPM, which works in a fixed way through a MOLEX connection and has a durability of 50, 000 working hours.
The tubes have a German four-layer design that reduces evaporation. It is divided into waterproof layers, higher density that prevents leaks, a resistance mesh and the external mesh that protects the entire circuit.
The radiator is built with aluminum fins and painted in matte black. It has dimensions of 15.1 x 12 x 2.7 cm which allows us to install it on any outlet for a 12 cm fan.
It includes a 120mm fan with a speed of 500 to 2300 RPM controlled by its 4-pin cable and has a loudness level of 14-35 dBA.
The cooling systems are compatible today with all modern platforms but many brands have stopped supporting the old ones such as LGA 775/1366 or AM2. LEPA remembers everyone and is compatible for both Intel and AMD. I leave you the supported platforms:
- Intel 775/1150/1155/1156/1366 / 2011AM2 / AM2 + / AM3 / AM3 + / FM1 / FM2 / FM2 +.
Installation
We install supports for Intel socket
The necessary hardware for the LGA 1151 socket
The motherboard chosen to install this liquid cooling is the recent LGA 1151. First we installed the radiator with the 120mm fan in our box. Next we locate the backplate that we will place on the back of the motherboard.
We will pass the coupling screws with their respective plastic spacers. We will apply thermal paste in the processor and fix the block.
Once well fixed and check that it does not move, we will proceed to connect the power cable to the power supply. It would only be necessary to fix the radiator on the tower (we have a benchtable) in a 120 mm fan shaft and enjoy it.
As you can see, the steps are simple and we will not need much experience to take less than 10 minutes to mount it on our computer.

To test the real performance of the heatsink we are going to stress the best processor on the market: the Intel Skylake i5-6600k. Our tests consist of 72 uninterrupted hours of work. In stock values and with overclocked 4600 mhz. In this way we can observe the highest temperature peaks and the average that the heatsink reaches. We must bear in mind that when playing or using other types of software, the temperature will drop dramatically between 7 to 12ºC.
WE RECOMMEND YOU The Thermaltake Floe DX RGB AIO refrigerator is now availableHow are we going to measure the processor temperature?
We will use the internal sensors of the processor. For that test on Intel processors we will use the CPUID HwMonitor application in its latest version. Although it is not the most reliable test of the moment, it will be our reference in all our analyzes. The ambient temperature is 20º.
Let's see the results obtained:
Final words and conclusion
The LEPA AquaChanger is a fantastic 120mm single radiator liquid cooling. Its block / pump design and excellent aluminum radiator give great performance.
In our performance tests we have seen how it behaves with an Intel Core i5-6600k with an overclock of 4, 600 Mhz and the results speak for themselves. Good job!
Regarding its installation, it is simple and with a little patience we will have the kit installed on our computer.
It is currently in the Ibertronic System for purchase.
