Samsung showed last week, at the Samsung Developer Conference in San Francisco, new details about its folding smartphone, the alleged Galaxy F or Galaxy X. Now Letsgodigital has created some renders.

This is how the Samsung folding smartphone will look

The phone itself was packed in a case, so the final design remains a mystery to this day. After all those years of rumors and speculation, it's time to visualize Samsung's folding phone. LetsGoDigital designed some 3D renders taking advantage of the fact that Samsung has already revealed that the folding smartphone will have two screens, which are significantly thinner than those currently used in other Galaxy devices. On the front, the phone sports a 4.6-inch screen with a resolution of 840 × 1960 pixels. If you open the phone, a flexible 7.3-inch AMOLED screen is displayed with QXGA + 1536 × 2152 pixels resolution.

Once deployed, the smartphone gets a real tablet function thanks to its large flexible screen, up to three active applications can run simultaneously without any problem. Although the flip phone looked quite thick in the used protective case, you could see that the device will have a minimum of bezels. Well-rounded corners, as we've gotten used to from Samsung, will give the mobile device the finishing touch.

Not only has Samsung spent a lot of time and money developing a suitable flexible display and a corresponding user interface, but the hinge will also become an important part of the overall user experience. The device must be able to bend over and over again without causing any damage. LetsGoDigital found several patents in which various types of bending mechanisms were described.

For the design of these renderings, a hinge has been chosen that has also been used in some of these patents, however, it is possible that Samsung will finally choose a different type of hinge.
