In addition to improving durability, Corning has also worked to improve the appearance of glass and has developed a technology to create designs without compromising durability. At a media event, the company showcased several interesting designs, including one that mimics the look of wood.

The company also introduced Gorilla Glass DX and Gorilla Glass DX +, which specifically target portable and other similar devices. The DX series replaces the Gorilla Glass SR series, greatly improving the optics by reducing glare. Gorilla Glass DX + is more scratch resistant than Gorilla Glass DX, but it is also slightly more expensive.
