And the first thing we are going to start is with its new AMD X570 chipset motherboards, which will arrive in July along with AMD's first batch of 7nm CPUs.
Asus ROG Crosshair VII Impact and Strix X570-I Gaming the new ITX options
So let's start with the smallest boards that have been presented under this chipset that comes loaded with new features.
The Asus Crosshair range is the one that gives us the highest performance boards for the AMD AM4 platform, and now, others have presented an interesting board in the form of Mini-DTX, which is basically a long board like the Micro-ATX and narrow like ITX. This board comes with a VRM protected by a large heatsink with a double fan and RGB lighting, along with a dual DIMM slot for 64 GB at 3800 MHz.
Similarly, it has only one PCIe 4.0 x16 slot for GPU (since the board does not have video connections) and double M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot. One positive thing is that these new boards include many of them Wi-Fi 6 connectivity thanks to the Intel Wireless-AX 200 chip that supports 2 × 2 dual band MU-MIMO connections at 2400 Mbps in 5 Ghz.
On the other hand, we have the Asus ROG Strix X570-I Gaming ITX board in which we have similar features in terms of PCIe, M.2 and RAM, although the VRM is less powerful as normal and we have slightly less connectivity in the panel I / O with 3 USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A ports and one Type-C, along with 4 USB 3.1 Gen1 ports. A positive thing is that it also has Wi-Fi 6 with the same chip as the previous model.
Asus ROG Crosshair VIII ATX plates
Among the new range of ATX-format motherboards, Crosshair undoubtedly stand out once again, those with the highest performance for AMD processors. In total, three models have been presented in addition to the one mentioned in the previous section, Crosshair VIII Formula as the head of the list and two Crosshair VIII Hero with and without integrated Wi-Fi.
Well, the Crosshair VIII Formula is the model with the best features as we say, it has an AMD X570 20 LANES PCIe chipset along with three PCIe 4.0 x16 slots and a PCIe 4.0 x1 slot. Its VRM is provided with no less than 16 phases, supporting 128 GB of RAM at 3800 MHz, double M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slot, double wired network interface with Aquantia 5G LAN chip of 5 Gigabit / se Intel I211AT GbE and Wi connectivity -Fi 6 thanks to the Intel Wireless-AX 200 chip. We have no less than 7x USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and 1x Type-C, along with 4x USB 3.1 Gen1.
We continue with the two Hero motherboards, where we have 3 PCIe 4.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 4.0 x1, 8 SATA 6 Gbps ports and the two respective M.2 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots. Also in both cases we have double LAN connectivity, although in this case it is a 2.5Gb / s Realtek 2.5G LAN chip and the same Intel GbE. The version that has Wi-Fi 6 repeats with the same Intel chip, otherwise they are very similar or identical boards.
Asus Prime X299 Deluxe 30th Anniversary - Commemoration of the brand's 30th anniversary
The last board that stands out from the rest is this Prime X299 30th Anniversary version, which has been designed to be the best of Intel's Workstation platform for its Intel Core X and XE CPUs. In fact, its new generation 16-phase VRM is capable of supporting sustained powers of 544 W for overclocking of these powerful CPUs.
It comes in a stunning white design with a 2-inch OLED display, 8 DIMM slots, 3 M.2 slots for PCIe x4 SSD storage, and three ruggedized PCIe 3.0 x16 slots. Something very very positive is that Asus has taken the opportunity to introduce Wi-Fi 6 in this model as well, with the Intel chip that has already been discussed. In addition, it features a dual LAN connection with a 5000 Mbps Aquantia 5G Ethernet chip , along with another 1000 Mbps Intel. Nor can it miss the dual Thunderbolt 3 connectivity at 40 Gb / s. So if you are looking for the best for your Intel Core i9-9980XE, this board will be yours.
Asus ROG Strix 650W Gold and 750W Gold, new modular gaming PSUs
We now leave the list of plates and take a look at other interesting news, such as these two new power supplies from the Strix series aimed at the high end, but far from the powerful ROG Thor.
We then have two modular type sources with a nominal power of 750W and 850W with 80 Plus Gold certification in both. They have an active cooling system using a 9-blade axial 135mm fan and strong aluminum heatsinks inside.
They have a 10-year manufacturer's guarantee thanks to the reliability offered by their Japanese capacitors. The version we saw at COMPUTEX 2019 featured an E-ATX connector, a P8 / P4 CPU power connector, 4 PCIe or 6 + 8-pin CPU connectors, and 4 connectors for MOLEX, SATA, and IDE cables.
Asus ZenScreen Touch, the new Tablet to work
We move a little further from pure hardware to review this interesting product from Asus aimed at productivity and the professional environment of the company.
Obviating the dubious creativity of those present to interact with the Tablet, it is a device with a 10-inch IPS FullHD 10-point screen, and a beautiful design in aluminum. It features hybrid connectivity between USB Type-C and micro-HDMI to connect other compatible devices such as plants and headphones.
We will have a good autonomy thanks to a 7, 800 mAh battery that ensures 4 hours of screen at 100% brightness, and supports the Android Q PC mode. The product includes a folding sleeve that can put the tablet in box mode for working or reading.
Asus TUF GAMING VG27AQ monitor
At the brand's sneak peak we were also able to see monitors, and one of the most interesting is this one from the TUF Gaming series, one of the three impressive monitors that the brand keeps in its arsenal.
Well, this particular model has a diagonal of 27 inches under WQHD resolution (2560x1440p), thanks to an IPS panel that supports HDR, with a native frequency of 144 Hz and a response time of just 1ms, yes, in an IPS panel. But at any time we can increase the refresh rate with an overclocking up to 155 Hz with built-in dynamic refresh technology, we intuit that it will be AMD FreeSync.
Asus has included ELMB-SYNC and Shadow Boost technology in its firmware, to improve image quality and dark tones on the monitor. It is expected to come to the market for a price of about 400 or 500 euros, more than reasonable to be one of the best 2K options that we have during the year.
Asus AiMesh AX6600 the highest performance Mesh system for homes
To finish with this list of highlights, we can not forget the new Mesh system that has joined the existing AX6100. Although in this case, we have two routers much more aesthetically cared and without a gaming aspect, increasing the bus width up to 500 Mbps.
It is still a tri-band system with two Asus RT-AX95Q routers that offers a 2 × 2 connection in both the 5GHz and 2.4GHz bands and another connection in the 5GHz 4 × 4 band at 4, 804 Mbps than in the meshed system performs the trunk connection function when both are interconnected. In the Ethernet LAN section we have 3 1 Gbps LAN ports and a 2.5 Gbps LAN port, which will also function as a WAN port.
Judging by the impressive speed and coverage results that the AX6100 system gave us, this new model cannot be left behind, in any case, we will try to bring it to you in the form of an in-depth analysis when it becomes available.
Conclusion on Asus hardware highlights at COMPUTEX 2019
The manufacturer has left a good example of why it is one of the best hardware manufacturers in the world. Powerful boards with X570 Chipset, new gaming monitors, Wi-Fi 6 AiMesh systems and even portable devices under Android.
And much more that you can find in Professional Review, because we have not stopped pulling news during the past week from Computex 2019.
