Analyzing mice is one of our great passions, and if it comes from a manufacturer like Logitech, better than better. This time we bring you the review of the Logitech G604 LightSpeed, an extremely functional mouse designed to assign commands to any of its many buttons. Let's see it!
A multipurpose company in peripherals, capable of offering functional and quality products in both low-end and professional gaming. That's Logitech, and needs no introduction.
Logitech G604 Lightspeed Unboxing
The box that the Logitech G 604 LightSpeed comes in is satin cardboard with a bluish-gray background. On its cover, a detailed map of the mouse is shown from the outset so that its additional buttons are visible to the naked eye. The model and brand number appear in a corporate blue with reflective resin. In the upper left corner we have the LightSpeed technology icon and it is specified that it is a wireless mouse model specifically designed for gaming.
Apart from the technical specifications that we can read on the left side of the box, three factors stand out on the back cover:
- 15 tactical controls and a super fast dual scroll wheel have an arsenal at your fingertips for maximum tuning. Fully programmable through Logitech G HUB software. Dual connectivity with Bluetooth or 1ms response LightSpeed wireless technology. HERO 16K sensor, the most accurate in Logitech. It has an energy efficiency of up to 240h with an AA battery.

Logitech G604 Lightspeed Design
The Logitech G604 LightSpeed is a mouse with a matte black plastic exterior finish. In its central part it presents a piece with a textured relief that is more present in the right area of the design. Just to the left shows us the Logitech logo with a polished surface.
The central scroll wheel presents is made of metal and features a slightly fluted texture. A good detail is that it has lateral mobility and pulsation, allowing you to perform actions tilting it to the left or right.
Just ahead of it are two switches: one to calibrate the scroll in two speeds (with or without resistance) and another to regulate the Logitech G604 LightSpeed's DPI.
The two front buttons are made of separate pieces. On the left we can also see the first pair of additional buttons, which is discreetly located in the left center of its structure.
In the rear area, the piece is gently lifted from its base to open the compartment. This is where both the save point for the nano-receiver and the AA battery for wireless use are located.
The compartment is designed so that the minimum number of moving parts is exposed. It guarantees that we don't feel that annoying feeling that there is some component inside the mouse that "dances" when we move it from one side to the other.
The nano-receiver itself features a standard design, with the Logitech logo printed on the edge and the Logitech G604 LightSpeed model code on one side.
Continuing with the button party, on the right side we have a total of six buttons in double line. These have been designed allowing to follow the curvature of the Logitech G604 LightSpeed itself and with a softer and more polished touch than the rest of the mouse due to the change of material.
Each of these buttons has a large size at its base, which narrows when raised, generating small pill-shaped structures that we can easily distinguish from each other only by touch, which greatly speeds things up when playing.
The last aspect to mention about the superior design is the fin that we find to rest the thumb. Here we find part of the surface texture already mentioned above in the central cover, and offers enough space to rest your finger without pressing the buttons.
Moving on to flip the Logitech G604 LightSpeed, we can see a total of four sliding surfers, plus a little extra protection around the sensor.
The next thing to note is its on / off switch on the base, which has a discreet color change to signal your activity. Turning it on activates the LightSpeed connection of the receiver, while to use it with Bluetooth once it is turned on we must press the button at the top (under the scroll wheel) for five seconds.

Ergonomics
The Logitech G604 LightSpeed's hump sits in a rather well-centered position, so those clam-claw or claw users can find the model quite comfortable because of it. With a length of 130mm, we can consider that we are dealing with a mouse of medium to large size. This does not mean that users with smaller hands cannot play with it since its buttons offer very good reach and ergonomics, but it is advisable to keep it in mind.
Sensitivity, acceleration and DPI test
We come here to talk about the sensor and sensitivity. The Logitech HERO 16K is the brand's flagship sensor. Its main peculiarity is that it does not present acceleration or smoothness in its trajectory. It offers precision at speeds of over 400ips across the full range of DPI, obtaining maximum response speed and accuracy.
To check the smoothness and response of the Logitech G604 LightSpeed, our acceleration test is the usual one: we set the mouse to 800 DPI points and tested it with a slow trajectory and a fast one. Here we can appreciate a fairly constant movement with low speed, while when we move to faster movements we can appreciate the absence of smoothing and acceleration in fidelity with which the gesture of our wrist follows.
Logitech G604 LightSpeed Autonomy
If you are looking for a wireless mouse with which to completely forget what it was to play with cables, the Logitech G604 LightSpeed is probably what you are looking for. Something that has pleasantly surprised us is how efficient its energy management is, and that is that the AA battery can last us 240 with a micro-receiver or five and a half months with Bluetooth.
This we already tell you from the outset that it is outrageous, although you should keep in mind that connectivity via Bluetooth makes it possible to link the mouse to devices such as tablets or laptops, but it is possible that using it in this way we do experience a certain latency. It is for this reason that we recommend that whenever possible you use it through the receiver, especially if you plan to use it to play.
Finally, it is worth mentioning the characteristics of the extender cable. With a length of 150cm, it works so that we can bring the USB socket closer to the Logitech G604 LightSpeed and guarantee the maximum speed of information exchange between the mouse and our computer.
However, we must tell you that unless your tower is at a certain distance you will not miss its use and you should not need it.software
For those less familiar with the brand, Logitech has a common software for all its compatible devices, the Logitech G HUB. This program allows us to modify the options of our mouse and save personalized profiles in its local memory.
In the case of the Logitech G604 LightSpeed the first thing that receives us in its panel is the level of battery charge, and by clicking on the mouse we can access the rest of the configuration options.
The menu consists of two sections:
- Sensitivity Assignments
Assignments is responsible for setting the various button functions in the operating system. We can establish macros, actions or link programs to each one of them.
Sensitivity allows us to establish four different levels of DPI that we can alternate analogically using its dedicated button on the Logitech G604 LightSpeed.
In turn, by clicking on the options wheel in the upper right corner we can access the integrated memory mode panel where we can set each of the five available profiles and customize their assignments and sensitivity individually.

Final words and conclusions about Logitech G604 Lightspeed
Broadly speaking, we consider the Logitech G604 LightSpeed's strength to be its versatility. The large number of buttons and the possibility of configuring them as desired through software is undoubtedly its greatest advantage. However, this may not be the ideal for all players, since not all types of games present the need for so many shortcuts, here are a couple of examples:
- First person arena (FPS) games like Fortnite or Apex Legend can take advantage of one-button shortcuts for actions such as medicine cabinets, shields, or building panels. Other online arena games (MOBAs) such as League of Legens or DOTA 2 experience a similar situation with a large number of skills or talents that can be assigned to the mouse itself.
- On the other hand, we can also find games with simpler commands, such as Overwatch or Team Fortress 2, which do not require such a large number of buttons. Therefore, we would not get the same benefit from games with mechanics of this type.
We recommend reading: Best mice on the market.
For the rest, it has the HERO 16K sensor, the best that Logitech has created to date. It has great connectivity with minimum latency (1ms). Something also highly valued is that the duration of its battery makes this wireless model a very efficient mouse, with an estimated 250h of use through the receiver and about four and a half months if we do it via Bluetooth.
The Logitech G604 Lightspeed goes on sale for € 105, making it a member of Logitech's high-end category. We recognize that it is a high price, but if you are looking for a competitive wireless mouse, this is it. In short, the Logitech G604 LightSpeed is a great mouse. However, it is advisable to evaluate your options before deciding which one is right for you according to the type of game you like and your configuration preferences.
