The first NVIDIA monitors with G-Sync HDR are being shipped exclusively to specialized sites for review, before being released to the public in July. These monitors with G-Sync, HDR and 384 zones with backlight, are of great quality, but they will also have a high cost as soon as they are put on sale.

G-Sync HDR monitors deliver superior image quality

NVIDIA G-Sync HDR monitors are absolutely spectacular, but superior quality translates to a higher price, with models well in excess of $ 500.

There are currently two models on Newegg's list that support NVIDIA's G-Sync HDR capability. Monitors including the ASUS ROG Swift PG27UQ and the Acer Predator X27, both with a 144-Hz, 4K, and 27-inch panel. Monitors were expected last April, but have now been placed to pre-order with availability expected in July.

The panel backlight has 384 individually controllable LED backlight zones, the light will only display when and where it is needed, allowing G-SYNC HDR displays to simultaneously produce bright colors and rich blacks. This is something that Plasma televisions already did. Monitors with fewer backlight zones, edge-lit backlight zones, or just a global backlight are unable to match the contrast and image quality of the new G-SYNC HDR 4K monitors, no matter how hard they try.

We know that the new G-Sync HDR panels will offer better quality compared to first-generation monitors with G-Sync, but will also be priced higher. For 27-inch models, we should expect costs well above $ 500. So far the prices of these monitors have not transpired.
