Smartphone prices rose in 2018

We already know that phone sales fell worldwide last year. Second consecutive year and this year promises to be the third in this regard. A detail that many did not know, but that is official now, is that the prices of smartphones rose last year. A rise of 9%, although the differences depending on the segment are clear.

Rising prices

In the mid-range we find that the prices of smartphones rose 14%. A notable rise in this segment, in which more phones are sold. Although it has been expanding over time and for a little over a year we have also found the so-called premium mid-range.

Other segments have seen prices fall. But due to these two increases, smartphone prices in general ended up rising last year. It will be interesting to see how prices in this market segment evolve this year.
