Specter and Meltdown are just the tip of the iceberg of a serious security issue with the speculative execution of modern processors. After these two vulnerabilities, other related ones have been discovered, the last ones named Specter NG, which do not affect AMD processors.

AMD Zen architecture is unaffected by Specter NG vulnerabilities, giving its new EPYC silicons an advantage

Over the past few weeks, rumors have begun to circulate about the new Specter NG (Next Generation) vulnerabilities, a new variant of Specter that is reported by early reports to affect processors manufactured by Intel. AMD has reported that its Zen-based processors are immune to Specter NG, which is great news for the company in the data center market. Thanks to this, its EPYC processors will be even more attractive to business customers, as its platform looks more secure than its Intel equivalents.

We recommend reading our post about Intel modifying their future processors at the silicon level, thinking of Meltdown and Specter

Currently not much is known about Specter NG, although early reports suggest that existing mitigations for Specter / Meltdown are not sufficient to address the new vulnerability, meaning Intel needs to create new solutions, which could affect the performance of its processors.

Hopefully we will have more information on Specter NG over the next few weeks, for now it seems that AMD is less affected by the exploit compared to Intel, something that will help the company to sell more processors to large data centers. As for Intel, we will have to wait for its new successor Core architecture to see all these vulnerabilities solved at the silicon level.
