Gemini Lake supports 10-bit VP9
Intel has made a change-log entry for the Linux kernel patch describing the support for hardware decoding of 10-bit video formats such as VP9. This marks an important step forward compared to previous Apollo Lake, which made do with support for the 8-bit VP9 codec. The entry in question mentions the decoding support for H.264 / MPEG-2 / VC-1 / JPEG / VP8 / HEVC / HEVC 10-bit / VP9 / VP9 10-bit.
