Macos catalina: the new version of the operating system

One of the most anticipated news from Apple at the event was macOS Catalina. Finally, this new version of the operating system has been presented. As usual, it comes with many changes, both in terms of design and functions, in addition to the launch of some very important functions for the company over the years, such as iTunes.

As in other cases, some of the functions or changes that were to come had been leaking over the weeks. But we finally know everything they leave us this time.

Goodbye to iTunes

This was something that we already knew was going to happen, although it has left a surprise of interest. Since iTunes is leaving, but it has been separated into three different applications, which are: Apple Music, Apple TV app and Apple Podcasts. The whole timing issue is now done from within Finder. These new apps are lighter, easier to use and much more comfortable.

New functions

macOS Catalina also leaves us with new functions. These are the main functions that Apple has presented at the event tonight:

• Sidecar: the possibility of using the iPad as a second screen.Accessibility and voice control: It will give the possibility of fully controlling the Mac using voice.Find My: We can search our devices even if they are not connected to the Internet in said Moment Activation Lock: It will allow to unlock and authenticate sessions and passwords more securely and quickly.Time of use: The same function that is present in the iPhone and iPad from iOS 12.

Apple has already released the beta for macOS Catalina. Several more betas await us these coming weeks, until the summer. The release date of the stable version is not official, although everything indicates that it will be sometime this fall.
