MacOS users may see some iOS apps appear in the Mac App Store very soon. According to MacRumors, Apple is working on a new project that will allow iOS applications to run on its MacOS operating system.

IOS applications will be usable on MacOS

In this way Apple intends to offer its users something similar to Google with Chromebooks, devices that can run Android applications on its ChromeOS operating system to improve the possibilities of use. The pioneer in this regard was Microsoft with its UWP, applications that can work on both Windows 10 and its mobile operating system, which has ended up failing in the face of Android and iOS.

Polaris will be a very light new version of Windows 10

There is no information on exactly how it would work or what apps will be available, but we have some hints on how it might work. MacOS uses a framework called UXKit that is similar in function to the UIKit that is used to create user interfaces for iOS applications. That means there's a bit of overlap between these tools already, making tighter integration between iOS and MacOS much easier than it sounds.

It is speculated that the announcement of this new project could come at the World Developers Conference in June, with a beta test in the summer and a public launch likely towards the end of the year. Bringing iOS apps to MacOS would open the doors to a large existing ecosystem, provided the deployment runs smoothly.

We will have to wait to know more details but it sounds most interesting for users of Apple equipment, after all, the more options offered to users the better.
