Microsoft adds countdown to acquire Windows 10 for free

When Windows 10 was released last year, Microsoft launched a major promotion where users who owned a Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 license could purchase Windows 10 for free. The promotion promoted by Microsoft will end this coming July 29, which will be the last opportunity to acquire Windows 10 without having to pay the license.

As we are only eight days away from the end of this promo, Microsoft has wanted to warn clueless users with a peculiar countdown that shows the days, hours, minutes and seconds remaining to update for free to this new operating system.

As can be seen in this new table, Microsoft did not want to have the same failure that it made at the end of last year, where the update that was offered to Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users could not be rejected. Now we see that the offer can be declined, although not with a button that highlights it too much. If we accept the offer, some 3GB will be downloaded and then we will proceed with the update of your Windows 7 or Windows 8.1 operating system without losing any data that you have saved on your computer, only the system is updated.

What happens once the deadline is met?
