Microsoft leaves with good news for developers working with older WPF or Winforms applications. In case these developers want to access the latest WinRT APIs, they have to add contract files, in addition to other sets in said project. A process that is not always easy. So the company now makes this process much simpler.

To do this, the Windows 10 WinRT API package is released. Thanks to these packages, developers will be able to add a NuGet package and the company will be in charge of doing the rest of the heavy lifting in this regard.

In this sense, the company makes a series of packages available to developers, which they can easily download. There are a total of three options, at least for now, which are the following (all of them with their download link already available).

All packages include the Windows Runtime APIs up to Windows 10. So this is something that has been covered in this way by the company. In addition, they have made a link available to users who want to know more about it.
