Microsoft releases update windows 10 november 2019 (1909)
Table of contents:
Microsoft is announcing its second major Windows 10 update for the year, the Windows 10 November 2019 Update (version 1909). This update exceeds the conventions in that it is "minor" compared to the Windows 10 May 2019 update (1903), in the sense that Microsoft has not made too many changes internally to the OS, but instead updated the user interface of the operating system. For example, the operating system retains the driver model from the previous version.
Various changes were made to the user interface, such as the ability to add items to your calendar directly from the calendar, better classification of notifications, better accessibility to the Start menu, and the ability to use third-party accessibility software even from the lock screen. Windows 10 now has the ability to choose the highest performing "favorite" cores in a multi-core processor.
Changes with update
- This update will be released to WSUS so customers can deploy and manage Insider Preview builds along with their standard ConfigMan / WSUS approach. See this blog post for details. We are offering pre-launch support for 19H2 offered to Windows Insider for Business Program (WIP4Biz) customers who are facing blocking issues that are preventing them from evaluating the features or usage of the device. See this article for more details. Windows containers require a matching host and container version. This restricts clients and limits Windows containers to support mixed version container pod scenarios. This update includes 5 solutions to address this and allow the host to run lower level containers on the upper level for process isolation (Argon). One solution to allow OEMs to reduce inking latency based on the Hardware capabilities of your devices instead of getting stuck with the latency selected in the typical hardware configuration by the operating system. The key rotation or key rotation feature enables secure transfer of recovery passwords on AAD devices managed by MDM at the request of Microsoft Intune / MDM tools or every time the recovery password is used to unlock the BitLocker protected drive. This feature will help prevent accidental disclosure of the recovery password as part of manual unlocking of the BitLocker drive by users. A change to allow third-party digital assistants to activate voice over the lock screen. Now you can create Quickly an event directly from the "Calendar" drop-down menu on the taskbar. Simply select the date and time in the lower right corner of the taskbar to open the Calendar drop-down menu and choose the desired date and start typing in the text box; You will now see the online options for setting a time and location. The navigation pane on the Start menu now expands when you mouse over it to better inform where the click is going. We have added friendly images to show what is meant by “Banner” and “Action Center” by adjusting notifications in apps to make this setting more accessible and understandable. Notification settings in Settings> System> Notifications now, by default, will classify notification senders according to the Most recently displayed notification, instead of the sender's name. This makes it easy to find and configure frequent and recent senders. We've also added a setting to disable sound playback when notifications appear. Now we're showing options to configure and disable notifications for an app / website directly in the notification, both as a banner and in the Activity Center. Added a "Manage Notifications" button at the top of the Activity Center that launches the main "Notifications and Actions" Settings page. We've added additional debugging capabilities for newer Intel processors. This is only relevant to hardware manufacturers. We have made general improvements in battery life and power efficiency for P C with certain processors. To provide better performance and reliability, we have implemented a rotation policy that distributes the work fairer among these preferred cores. We have enabled Windows Defender Credential Guard for ARM64 devices for additional protection against credential theft for companies deploying ARM64 devices in their organizations. We have enabled the ability for companies to supplement Windows policy 10 in S mode to allow traditional Win32 (desktop) applications from Microsoft Intune. We are updating the search box in File Explorer to now work with Windows Search. This change will help integrate your OneDrive content online with traditional indexed results. We've added the ability for Narrator and other assistive technologies to read and learn where the FN key is located on keyboards and what state it is in (locked versus unlocked).
