Microsoft releases the first build (16170) of windows 10 redstone 3

Now that Windows 10 Creators Update is now available for manual download, Microsoft decided to distribute the first Redstone 3 build to Insiders.

Windows 10 Build 16170 was shipped to the Insiders of the Fast Ring, and unsurprisingly, there are no major changes for now, though the company is laying the groundwork for future bigger updates to come in the coming months, making the first few Builds will always incorporate improvements and optimizations for OneCore.

This build only brings a few changes and fixes, without any new features. One of the most important changes has to do with File Explorer, which now has a new icon for sharing content.

Users have also received fixes for various issues causing PC to crash when trying to install new versions of OS.

Windows 10 Redstone 3 Build 16170 Known Issues

Windows 10's new build 16170 brings several known issues, and users who install it should take a look at them first. For example, Dona Sarkar, responsible for the Windows Insider program, said that some applications and games could fail in this compilation due to a bad configuration of the advertising ID.

"Specifically, this problem affects the new user accounts that were created with Build 15031. The misconfiguration may persist after upgrading to subsequent builds, " warns Sarkar, recommending that users delete the following registry key to try. To fix the problem: HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ AdvertisingInfo .

On the other hand, the Activity Center could remove all notifications at once even if you just want to delete one notification, or the team might ask you to restart it because there are pending updates when you didn't actually install any updates recently.
