Microsoft improves graphics performance in the brand new surface studio 2

Microsoft has announced Surface Studio 2 as an updated and more modern version of the famous 'All-in-One ' device, retaining the same basic concept as the original. However, Microsoft has greatly increased its graphics capabilities. The 4500 × 3000 pixel 28-inch screen is now 38% brighter and has 22% more contrast.

Price for the Surface Studio 2 starts at $ 3, 499

The first generation used a GeForce 965M or 980M GPU. With this latest model, users can enjoy a huge performance boost thanks to the 6GB GeForce GTX 1060 GPU, though it is also possible to add an NVIDIA GTX 1070 to the equation.

They're also ditching the 8GB option, and now offer Surface Studio 2 with at least 16GB or 32GB of DDR4 memory. Even the storage design gets an upgrade, eventually abandoning the hybrid disk configuration for an entirely SSD solution of up to 2TB capacity.

However, despite updating everything else, Microsoft decided to use seventh generation Intel CPUs. This means that it uses an i7-7820HQ processor instead of one of the new eighth generation models that are already swarming out there. The Intel Core i7-7820HQ is a 45W processor with 4 cores and Hyperthreading activated for laptops with a base speed of 2.9GHz, which can reach 3.9GHz in Turbo.

Unlike the new Surface Laptop 2 and Surface Pro 6 , the Surface Studio 2 does have a USB-C port, but! It does not support Thunderbolt 3.

Price and availability

The price for the Surface Studio 2 starts at $ 3, 499 for the model with 16GB RAM and 1TB SSD. If we want a computer with 32 GB of RAM and 2 TB SSD it costs $ 4, 799 in total. It will be available during the month of November.
