Microsoft may be ready to launch a portable gaming device
Table of contents:
It is quite clear that, in comparative terms, the Xbox One has not sold as well as Microsoft expected. Although it is far from being a failure, recent figures reveal that the Nintendo Switch was about to surpass it as the second best-selling console of the "current" versions. With this panorama, Microsoft would be planning the launch of a portable console.
Microsoft's device would turn any smartphone into a gaming platform
In a report via T3 , a patent application (and images) have leaked information about a portable console.
So what exactly is it? Well, based on the images, it seems to be essentially a packaging designed to work with the screen of a smartphone. As such, you may be wondering exactly what this could offer. Will it be a control peripheral for smartphones?
This would rather be a peripheral to add to any phone, which consists of two parts that would be placed on the sides, adding a control similar to that of an Xbox controller.
The design appears to be quite complete, offering both a wireless audio jack and a wired audio jack. However, how good this peripheral could be, and Microsoft's long-term intentions are a big mystery. Certainly, the two controls on the sides look a lot like a Nintendo Switch.
It may have been a long time since then, but Microsoft may be finally ready to break into the handheld device market. If this technology is combined with the possibilities of xCloud to stream games to any device, the offer could be more than interesting. We will keep you informed.
