In the years 2009 and 2010 many rumors appeared that pointed out that Microsoft was working on a folding tablet called Courier. Something that was never confirmed but it seems that the Redmond have returned to the fray with a folding tablet with Windows 10, this time with more sense than ever thanks to the latest advances.

Folding tablet with Windows 10 would be on the way

Again it is pointed out that Microsoft is developing another device similar in concept to the Courier that was finally canceled. The code name for this new tablet is Andromeda, and it will work with the Windows 10 operating system under an ARM processor. It is also pointed out that it will come with telephony capabilities, something that may make sense since its folding design would allow it to be used in a very compact way as if it were a smartphone. The company has already admitted that if it ever makes a mobile product again, it will be a new type of device, and not a smartphone, something that fits perfectly with what we now know about the folding tablet with Windows 10.

The new ARM laptops with Windows 10 will be a revolution according to Microsoft

Unfortunately, specifications for Andromeda have not been leaked yet, but for now the flagship processor to run Windows 10 on the ARM architecture is the Snapdragon 835 so it could be this after all, although we do not know when the tablet will be released so by then there may be many more solutions available.

Windows 10 devices on ARM processors could offer us excellent battery life with a very thin and light design, perhaps this is the future of ultrabooks and high-end tablets.
