Asus rog z170 series shown
Nothing better to start the week than bringing information about the new LGA 1151 socket motherboards from a manufacturer of the stature of Asus and even more exciting if it is their ROG series.
Asus ROG Maximus VIII Extreme
First of all we have the highest-end board, the Asus ROG Maximus VIII Extreme with ATX format provided with a robust 13-phase VRM of DIGI + power of the highest quality to ensure sufficient electrical power delivery to achieve a good dose of overclocking. Surrounding the socket we find four DIMM slots that support a maximum of 64 GB of DDR4-3400 MHz RAM.
Following its specifications we came across four PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, two PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots , one M.2 slot, eight SATA III ports, two SATA Express, 7.1-channel SupremeFX audio and switches to disable the PCI slots. Express that we are not using. It also has a PLX chip to increase the PCI-Express lines and be able to extract juice from its four slots.
Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero
Next we have the Asus ROG Maximus VIII Hero with ATX format that sees its VRM simplified up to about 10 power phases. Its specs are rounded out by the same four DDR4 DIMM slots, three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots, another three PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots, one M.2 slot, eight SATA III ports, the same 7.1-channel SupremeFX audio, one USB port. 3.1 Type-C, six USB 3.0 ports and video outputs in the form of HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort.
Asus ROG Maximus VIII Gene
We go down one more step and we find the Asus ROG Maximus VIII Gene with a Micro-ATX form factor that maintains the same 10-phase VRM of the previous model and the four DDR4 DIMM slots.
Its specs are still complete with two PCI-Express 3.0 slots, one PCI-Express 3.0 x4 slot, one M.2 slot, six SATA III ports, two SATA Express, the same 7.1 channel SupremeFX audio, one USB 3.1 type port C, 3.0 ports, and display outputs in the form of HDMI 2.0 and DVI.
Asus ROG Z170 Maximus VIII Ranger
Finally we find the models with lower characteristics, the Asus ROG Z170 Maximus VIII Ranger that maintains the Micro-ATX format and the same 10-phase VRM and the four DDR4 DIMM slots. The rest of its specs include three PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots , two PCI-Express 3.0 x1 slots, six SATA III ports, six USB 3.0 ports, one USB 3.1 Type-C port, SupremeFX 7.1-channel audio, and shaped display outputs.
