New high-performance SLI bridges EVGA SLI HB

Nvidia has introduced a new SLI bridge with the GTX 1080 that focuses on achieving the maximum bandwidth possible in 2-way SLI configurations. This makes further performance scaling possible but the new SLI bridge has the drawback that it occupies both SLI touchpoints in 2-way SLI configurations.

The new EVGA SLI HB bridges come alongside the GeForce GTX 1080 and GTX 1070 and are offered in three variants. 1U that leaves no space between both graphics cards, 2U that leaves one slot of space and 3U that leaves two slots of space between both cards. These new bridges include i RGB LED lighting so fashionable today to give a distinctive touch to your team. These new EVGA SLI HB Bridges offer maximum performance in 4K @ 60Hz HDR, 4K @ 120Hz and 5K configurations.

Nvidia's excuses for not continuing to use 3- and 4-graphics SLI configurations make sense, performance scaling is usually quite poor compared to a traditional two-graphics-card SLI (although this also depends on the game) and for that reason hardly were used. It remains to be seen what AMD does and if its CrossFire settings will still support more than two graphics or if it made the same decision as Nvidia.
