Not a few are waiting for the launch of Mount & Blade II, the massive war action game that offers us great battle scenarios and hundreds of soldiers fighting to the death… or until they flee.

Mount & Blade II will be heavily CPU dependent

While we're still waiting for its release date to be confirmed, the game's developers are already anticipating that Mount & Blade II will be heavily CPU dependent and that it will take full advantage of those processors with more than 4 cores.

The TaleWorlds game scenarios will be about 4 kilometers long and will put into battle up to 800 fully detailed units, which will be a challenge for any CPU. Optimization for those computers with 6 cores or more is going to be crucial due to the calculations that must be made for the artificial intelligence of each unit, according to the developer.

It is very possible that Ryzen processors will benefit greatly in this game, although Intel is about to launch Coffee Lake, which would already come with 6 physical cores from October.

TaleWorlds will also have a more than interesting challenge trying to port this game to the Playstation 4 and XBOX One consoles, which have very modest APU processors today, even the new XBOX One X is betting on one of these processors. How good will the console version of Mount & Blade II look? It is a mystery for now since we still do not know the recommended requirements on PC.

Minimum requirements have been published from the Steam page that Mount & Blade II will have (subject to change).

Minimum requirements

  • Processor: Intel i3-2100 / AMD FX-6300 Memory: 4 GB of RAM Graphics: Intel HD 4600 / Nvidia GT730 / AMD R7 240 Storage: 40 GB of available space

You can see the article published by TaleWorlds on Steam where they discuss the technological challenges that this game offers, very interesting and in Spanish.
