Currently there are several models available for purchase, in our case it is the model with i7-6700K processor, 8 GB of SODIMM DDR4 RAM, a 4GB nVidia GTX 970 graphics card, wireless network card, 7.1 Nahimic sound technology and an 80 PLUS certified power supply .

Although its design is not as beautiful as the MSI Vortex that we analyzed not long ago, it is a compact chassis of only 19.6 liters and dimensions of 433.1 x 376.1 x 169.92 mm. As we can see its structure is completely plastic and very futuristic. Inside it houses large components that we will see below.

MSI has opted for a 6th generation " Skylake " Intel Core processor, specifically we have a Core i7 6700 consisting of four cores at a frequency of 3.4 GHz for sensational performance. This processor has a very low power consumption and is capable of improving the performance of the previous generation in both single-threaded and multicore tests. The processor is accompanied by 8 GB of DDR4 SODIMM RAM (that of the laptop) so you will not have problems in any application or game for years to come.

The equipment has an 80 PLUS 350W power supply, more than enough to pull such equipment. It is located at the bottom of the tower and incorporates a small fan that expels all the hot air out.

Once we open the box we find the motherboard, which in the previous area has a DDR4 SODIMM connection and an M2 connection for its SSD storage: Both signed by Transcend.

As we talked about, it incorporates an Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 graphics card with 4 GB of GDDR5 memory. Although it is a 900 series graphics card, it offers excellent performance, although MSI has already confirmed that they will release a version with the new GTX 1060, GTX 1070 and GTX 1080, so we will have a compact box with great components.

Refrigeration is key in a high performance equipment and especially if it is compact. Although these cabinets are so narrow and everything is so close together there is not much room for maneuver, we could really expect a little more from MSI, but its objective is: to cool the processor and graphics card.

We found a spectacular sound technology signed by Nahimic Surround Sound, a technology that was developed for military combat fighters and focuses on software processing to provide you with high quality 7.1 3D positional sound that will give you a great immersion in the battlefield. This technology will make you feel the position of all your rivals in the game to take you straight to victory, Nahimic transports gamers directly to the battlefield, allowing each footstep, each bullet and explosion to be felt. In addition, it presents a tool to record audio in a simple way with studio sound quality, only in MSI.

Testing in games in Full HD resolution

Temperatures and consumption

Temperatures are as expected with the fantastic i7 processor at 40º at idle and 62º at maximum performance. While the graphics at no time exceeded 75ºC.

It is surprising both for its temperatures and for its consumption, it is noted that MSI has done a great job and we have consumption of 77 W at rest and average consumption of 201 W. Although it must be said that we have casually peaked from 250 to 260w.

The new MSI Aegis barebone is one of the best compact PCs on the market, as it incorporates the latest generation of processors (Intel Skylake) and a 4GB GTX 970 graphics card, although it was leaked a few days ago. It will renew with the new Nvidia GTX 1060 that we analyzed not long ago.

In our tests we have been able to verify that any current game is eaten in Full HD resolution, becoming a compensated team with great work power. Its consumption and temperatures? Really good, where we see at rest it has 77W and 40º in the processor and at maximum power with 201W and 62ºC maximum.
