The MSI GP62 7REX arrives in a black and red cardboard box. On its cover we can see printed the dragon gaming so characteristic of the brand. While in the rear area we have specified the main technical characteristics: compatibility with PCI Express Gen3 disks, Nahmic 2 sound and RGB keyboard.

The MSI GP62 7REX is a notebook with a standard size for high performance notebook features. It has a 15.6-inch screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels (Full HD). The display is made of a 16: 9 matte IPS panel and 141 PPI offering good color fidelity.

We really liked that MSI is again incorporating True Color technology in a notebook with a range of 1000 euros. MSI True Color offers enhanced color contrast and greater detail in every image. Being a very attractive technology for users who spend many hours retouching images, videos or why not! Playing ?

The laptop has super small dimensions of 383 x 260 x 27 ~ 29 mm and weighs 2.4 kg.

Although lately we have seen notebooks of a similar size touch 2kg, the truth is that the quality is very good. It seems to us a design success.

Among its connections we find a kensington blocker, an RJ45 connection inside, two classic USB 3.0 connections, another USB 3.0 Type C, an HDMI connection, another miniDisplayPort and the audio input / output. While on the other side we have a power connection, a card reader and a USB connection.

We have a CHICLE keyboard signed by the prestigious Steelseries brand. Regarding touch, we got used to it quickly, during the last year I had a total of two top-range MSI notebooks and both the touch and the key travel are quite nice.

It seems to us a success that incorporates RGB lighting. For us it is a positive point since they can benefit us in dark or clear situations, for lovers of colored lights.

It also includes good speakers accompanied by Nahimic Sound 2 technology delivering a 360º sound experience.

This technology that allows? What does it offer? Mainly a high definition sound that increases the audio and voice of your gaming computer. Enjoy immersive 7.1 sound over your stereo audio equipment.

As we can see, a rear view of the equipment. It includes enough grilles to have more than effective ventilation. The graphics section has the competent Nvidia GeForce GTX 1050 Ti graphics card with a total of 768 CUDA Cores accompanied by 4 GB of GDDR5 memory with a 128-bit interface. With these specifications we can play any game in 1920 x 1080p resolution (native) in high. Obviously it is not one of the best graphics cards that MSI presents, but without a doubt it is one of the options that performance / temperature exist currently on the market.

Test of performance

MSI Dragon Center allows us to do whatever action we need. For example, it allows us to customize the image quality, monitor the temperature and frequencies of the processor and graphics card, take control from your smartphone thanks to its Official APP.
