The guys at Techpowerup have managed to get closer to the MSI news at Computex 2018, drawing attention to a new high-end MSI MEG X399 Creation board, designed to be used with production quality content creation systems.

MSI MEG X399 Creation allows you to connect up to seven NMVe storage units

MSI MEG X399 Creation relies on AMD's massive TR4 socket to support Ryzen Threadripper processors, with four DDR4 DIMM slots flanking it on both sides to support up to 64GB of memory in quad chanel configuration. Beneath the rear I / O zone of the board hides a secondary VRM heatsink, which connects to the brutal 19-phase VRM setup using a heatpipe. This increase in VRM heatsink size should allow MSI to keep its temperatures under control, even during the most demanding overclocking.

The benefits of the MSI MEG X399 Creation continue with three M.2 slots, all covered by heatsinks to prevent overheating of these fast storage units. While only three M.2 slots are visible, MSI has announced that the board is ready to hold up to seven M.2 devices. Support for additional M.2 devices is available thanks to the MSI Xpander-AERO card, which can convert one 16x PCIe slot into four M.2 slots.

Two rear Intel Gb LAN ports and support for Intel WiFi are also included on the rear I / O. MSI has also placed ten PWM fan ports, three dedicated thermal sensors, and two 8-pin EPS power connections. MSI has not disclosed a release date or an expected price.
