Mushkin announces its new helix ssd with mlc memory and silicon motion sm2260
Table of contents:
Mushkin has announced its new line of high-performance Helix SSDs that is based on the use of MLC memory technology and an advanced Silicon Motion SM2260 controller.
Mushkin Helix features
The new Mushkin Helix arrive with an M.2 form factor so they are mainly aimed at high-end desktops and laptops. They come in various capacities to fit the needs of all users, we will have 250 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB and 2 TB models. All of them with a PCI-Express 3.0 x4 interface, the Silicon Motion SM2260 controller with a two-core processor, eight channels of NAND memory, LDCP ECC technology and AES 256-bit encryption.
How to mount an SSD on a laptop step by step
With these features they will be able to offer sequential read and write speeds of 2.5 GB / s and 1.1 GB / s, on the other hand the random performance amounts to 232K / 185K IOPS, which takes the controller beyond its limits thanks to the excellent work that Mushkin and Silicon Motion have done on the firmware.
