The Spanish brand IKOHS, which stands out for the good value for money of its products, launches its new NETBOT S15 4-in-1 robot. This new version maintains many of the functions incorporated in previous models, such as its smartGYROSCOPE technology, Wi-Fi connectivity Fi, its 5 cleaning modes or compatibility with both the different voice assistants and the smartphone app. At the same time, some new features are added, such as greater suction power of up to 1500 Pa and less noise when cleaning. All this at a really tight price. We take a look to see what we found.

Unboxing

The NETBOT S15 is well packed and protected in the characteristic box of this type of vacuum cleaner. That means, a bulky box with a recycled cardboard interior insert where the robot and all its components are embedded to avoid any type of damage. We find all this arranged neatly. Design

The NETBOT S15 has a circular design characteristic of this type of robot and it gives such good results. In this model the predominant color is a dark gray that looks quite good. In the upper part the same color is used along with a patterned design. On the other hand, the robot is made of impact resistant hard plastic. Fortunately, the height of the NETBOT S15 is less than 10 centimeters and can be cleaned under many of the furniture we have around the house. Its specific measurements are 7.5 centimeters high and 33 centimeters in diameter, with an approximate weight of 3 kg.

At the top there is only the button to start or stop the cleaning process of the vacuum cleaner, something that can also be done using the remote control or the mobile app.

On the front edge there is a bumper, which in turn has 11 sensors to avoid collisions. On the right edge are the on / off switch and a connector for power charging. The left one only has a grill for heat dissipation, and finally, on the rear edge there is a housing for the removable tank, as is usually common in this type of vacuum cleaner.

At the bottom of the robot we find the usual components: 3 anti-fall sensors near the top edge, two pins for power transmission in the charging station and between them, a central wheel that guides the robot.

Near the top side edges are the side brushes with 3 ends. At the lower edges of these are the central wheels, made of rubber and with a small suspension, which can go through small obstacles such as carpets or rugs. Between these wheels, the roller in charge of collecting dust and dirt and sucking it towards the tank is located. This roller features a mixed configuration of bristles and AnimalCare rubber silicone to prevent animal hair from tangling on it. This compartment can be easily opened to clean the roller.

Just below is, as mentioned above, the accommodation for one of the tanks: to collect dust or to store the water needed for scrubbing. A small speaker is located adjacent to the tank area.

Netbot S15 Features

The Netbot S15 is characterized by having 4 main functions such as vacuuming, sweeping, scrubbing and mopping. It also stands out for having an intelligent navigation and mapping system called SmartGYROSCOPE that is based on the use of the gyroscope and allows the vacuum cleaner to know the areas already cleaned and those that are not. To prevent unwanted areas from being cleaned, a magnetic tape is included and should be placed on the threshold of the area where access to the Netbot S15 is not desired.

To perform cleaning efficiently, it has the IntelligentClean system and a great suction power of 1500 pascals and two power levels depending on the surface you are cleaning, one normal and the other with higher power.

Despite this power and due to SoftSILENCE technology, the noise it makes when cleaning is less than previous models and less than would be expected.

Like other vacuum cleaners, a HEPA filter is included that retains both dust and allergens and mites. This filter is complemented by another called Sponge Clean.

Cleaning modes

The Netbot S15 offers 5 cleaning modes to choose from depending on what you want:

Automatic - This is the mode that the Netbot S15 uses by default. Using mapping based on your gyroscope, you'll try to clean as much of the zigzag area as possible until your battery runs out. If you have missed any area, you will remember it and resume the tour in your next cleaning. Edges: As its name indicates, it focuses on thoroughly vacuuming the edges and corners of the house. Room: the Netbot S15 will thoroughly clean the room you want and after finishing its task, it will stop. Spot: It is similar to the room mode but, instead of doing a thorough cleaning of a room, it does it at a point determined by us, in which a greater amount of dirt is concentrated or something has been spilled. The Netbot S15 will vacuum spiraling and when finished will return to the charging station. Scheduled: using the remote control or the app, we can program Netbot S15 to start cleaning at the desired time each day. Once cleaning is complete or the battery will return to its charging station.

performance

Once the Netbot S15 has been tested for a whole week, we can say that we are really happy with it. In automatic mode, the work performed by the robot in terms of vacuuming and sweeping is very good. Certainly, he does not always collect everything on the first pass but when he leaves it to act on his own, in subsequent cleanings he ends up collecting everything.

With the edges and corners it does not do a bad job, but it is true that from time to time it is recommended to activate the Borders mode so that it focuses exclusively on them. Another mode that we tested successfully was the Spot mode, which works correctly, the vacuum cleaner travels a certain spiral distance but not enough for particles that have been scattered too far, for this it is necessary to resort to the default mode.

On the other hand, programming a cleaning schedule on the Netbot S15 is very simple and works great. It just starts cleaning and when its battery is low it goes back to its charging station. We have not found it half lost around the house as if it ever happened to us with some Chinese model.

The vacuum cleaner cleans all kinds of surfaces, from ceramic floors to parquet floors, and even carpets. On parquet floors, the use of the mop, included in the Netbot S15, is the ideal complement.

For carpets, on the other hand, it is best to activate the most powerful suction mode to effectively vacuum the large amount of particles that are usually concentrated in this type of fabric. In this higher suction mode the battery level will drain more quickly.

The normal mode makes little noise when compared to other models, around 60 decibels, and is something that is always appreciated. If the maximum power mode is used, the noise will obviously be increased.

Scrubbing is one of the most interesting features of this Netbot S15, and we have been able to verify that the water regulation works effectively, as does scrubbing the floor. However, this type of scrubbing should be seen as complementary to scrubbing done by a person. We are not facing a definitive scrub that avoids human intervention. In any case, after each cleaning we will be forced to exchange the mop and wash the already used one.

Autonomy

The Netbot S15 robot has an internal 2600 mAh lithium-ion battery. The first time we use the vacuum cleaner, it will be necessary to carry out a first long charge, around noon and another second shorter charge until the charge is completed.

Once the cleaning task is ready, the Netbot S15, thanks to the AutoBack system, will always be in charge of returning only to its charging station, which we must have previously placed in a place free of obstacles around it to facilitate the entry and exit of the robot.

The autonomy of the robot depends largely on the chosen suction mode. In normal mode, the battery approaches 2 hours. On the other hand, if I choose the maximum power mode Max Power, the autonomy is reduced to almost an hour and a half.

On the other hand, when the Netbot S15 returns to its base, the full charge of the robot's battery takes around 4 hours.

Connectivity

The Netbot S15 vacuum cleaner has several ways to control its functions in addition to the button on the top. The robot can be instructed using the remote control, the smartphone app or some of the voice assistants such as Alexa or Google Home.

The remote control allows you to turn the Netbot S15 on and off, send it to its charging station, pause it and even change its course with the arrows available for this purpose. It is also possible to change the cleaning mode, the suction power and to program or modify the cleaning schedule. The robot will respond to the changes we choose with an English voice.

The smartphone app is called WeBack and is available for both iOS and Android for free in their respective stores. Once installed, you must register if it has not been done before. After them, the app will guide us through a series of steps to identify and connect the Netbot S15 to the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.

Once all the steps are completed, our app and robot will be synchronized and ready to communicate from home or from any other place, as long as the robot remains within range of the Wi-Fi router used for configuration.

The WeBack app has most of the buttons already seen on the remote control, in addition to the possibility of viewing other data on the main screen of the app. When the Netbot S15 starts cleaning, we will be shown data such as the area cleaned in square meters, the remaining battery and the time it takes to clean. We are also shown the route that the vacuum cleaner takes at home. Overall, a very complete app.

Compatibility with the Alexa and Google Home wizards is a highly advertised aspect. In order to use them, it is necessary to enter the app settings and configure the connection with these assistants. Once configured and when giving orders by voice, the Netbot S15 responds immediately. Of course, it is important to know the necessary commands to activate each function.

Netbot S15 conclusion and final words

Having a robot vacuum cleaner that is efficient vacuuming and sweeping, and that is also cheap, is difficult to find. All this is achieved by the Netbot S15. If you add that you also do your little scrubbing and that it comes from a Spanish brand, the expectation is undoubtedly higher.

The Netbot S15 despite its low price, has a very good overall performance when it comes to dry cleaning the house thanks to its great suction power. Scrubbing, as we already mentioned, is good but it is not its greatest virtue.

It is appreciated that, despite everything, the noise it makes is low compared to the noise that this type of vacuum cleaner usually makes.

In vacuum robots of this range, functions are usually cut, so it is surprising to find many of the most viewed in more expensive models and even features not seen in others, such as compatibility with the smartphone app, which works really well and brings such interesting options. like showing the route the robot makes. The compatibility with voice assistants, although it is not yet something very used by people, is always welcome and denotes the care for details and for being up to date. Nor can you forget the number of spare parts included as standard when buying it.

At this point, the review may seem like an advertorial but nothing further from reality, our testing has left us in general with a good taste in the mouth when trying a product with many benefits and few points to improve.
