Netflix is one of the largest streaming services for series and movies on the planet, and therefore many people use its application on mobile platforms. On Android, the app doesn't come with too many restrictions, but it appears that the company is starting to block some users who want to access this app.
Some rooted Android phones cannot download Netflix from Google Play
As some users have reported on Reddit, Netflix no longer appears on their Google Play. Also, the app list shows the device as incompatible with the app. This behavior appears to vary depending on the root method used, as many other phones are not being affected.
At the moment, it only seems to be a minor inconvenience, if you have the application installed it will work without problems. Also, users with these rooted phones can still easily load the APK of this app by getting it by other methods. However, this is not a good sign for rooted users.
Netflix would be implementing new blocking methods
This is likely just the first step for Netflix to add a more effective lock on both Google Play and the app itself. Why? The cause may be the new Netflix download feature that was recently implemented, as the company could take precautions to avoid piracy with that feature.
