Mouse makers seem to have realized that optical sensors are the best when it comes to gaming because they offer superior precision than laser technology. For this reason, we see more and more models equipped with this type of sensor, an example of which is the new Newskill Renshi Guang, a professional gaming mouse that offers incredible precision with its advanced 16, 000 DPI optical sensor so that we don't miss a single one Shooting. Its features do not stop there but continue with an RGB LED lighting system, six programmable buttons and an ergonomic design.

First of all, we thank Newskill for the trust they placed in giving us the Renshi Guang for their analysis.

Newskill Renshi Guang technical characteristics

Unboxing and design

Newskill has opted for a somewhat different presentation on their Renshi Guang, the mouse comes in a plastic box on which a cardboard cover is placed that partially covers it, this design has the advantage that we can see the mouse perfectly before to get it out. The cardboard part combines the colors blue and black mostly and has been used to put the main characteristics of the mouse. Newskill Renshi Guang is a professional optical mouse with a maximum resolution of 16, 000 DPI, six software programmable buttons, an ergonomic design and an advanced, highly configurable RGB LED lighting system.

We open the box and we see a black cardboard box inside which are all the accessories, we find a cloth bag to store the mouse, a spare Teflon surf set, a sticker, a folding poster and a card to hang it from the gate of our battlefield and do not disturb us during our games, that in case it works?

Finally we see a close-up of the mouse, the manufacturer has opted for a conservative design and the Newskill Renshi Guang is built with a completely black plastic body, the cable is also black and braided to achieve greater resistance, in the end we have the connector Gold plated USB to improve contact and prevent wear.

Newskill Renshi Guang reaches measures of 126 x 68 x 39 mm and a weight of 130 grams, its design is ergonomic and it has been thought to be used with a palm grip mainly although it adapts quite well to the grip of claw and tip of fingers. In its upper part we have the typical wheel and a button below that is programmed by default for the change of DPI mode although we can modify its function by software. This central button has a rather curious shield-shaped design. The wheel is finished in rubber to improve the adherence to our finger and its operation is very pleasant on all kinds of routes. On the back we see the manufacturer's logo that is part of the lighting system, we will talk about it later.

Its two programmable buttons bet on the Japanese Omron mechanisms of the highest quality to guarantee enormous durability, not in vain is a mouse intended for FPS / RTS so you will have to perfectly endure thousands of keystrokes in each of the games. The body is finished in rubber to improve grip and prevent it from being thrown off in sudden movements.

On the left side we find the two programmable buttons that are already a tradition in any self-respecting mouse, these buttons have a firm press and do not dance so their quality is excellent. As standard they are configured for the forward and backward functions in the browser but thanks to the software we can modify their function without any problem. The right side is totally free.

We reached the bottom and we found three Teflon surfers and an optical sensor. The mounted sensor is the Pixart 3360 with a maximum resolution of 16, 000 DPI, 250 IPS and 50G and which is one of the best we can find on the market. A high DPI value allows us to make a great tour with a very small movement of the mouse so it will be especially suitable for multi-monitor configurations. In contrast, low DPI values will be ideal in games where high precision of movement is required.

Newskill Renshi Guang Software

Newskill makes advanced software available to users to get the most out of Newskill Renshi Guang, the mouse can be used without installing it, but we will be wasting much of its features so it is highly recommended that we install it. To download the application we just have to go to the support section of the Newskill website and search for the Renshi Guang. Once your installation is downloaded it cannot be easier since we will only have to click on next all the time.

Once we open the application we see that we can manage up to four different usage profiles, this will be great for us to have the mouse always ready to get the most out of it in many different scenarios. We can also associate profiles with games and applications so that they load automatically when they are opened.

The first section of the software allows us to manage the six programmable buttons, it also allows us to assign functions to the movement of the wheel in its two directions, so we have a total of eight programmable actions, a fairly high number for what we are used to seeing. The configuration possibilities are many since we can assign functions as varied as macros, multimedia functions, keyboard shortcuts, changing the DPI mode, shooting function, double click, triple click and many more.

In the next section we find the adjustment possibilities of the mouse sensor. First of all we have the configuration of the four mouse DPI levels, the adjustment is allowed in ranges of 100 in 100 from 100 DPI to 16, 000 DPI, we highlight that we can independently adjust the X and Y axes.

The second point that we can manage is the acceleration of the mouse, this makes that when we make a fast movement of the mouse the cursor moves more than when we make a slow movement with the same distance. My recommendation is to set it to 0 since acceleration affects us negatively in games, if we deactivate it we get the mouse to always respond the same for the same sliding distance regardless of speed.

Finally we can adjust the refresh rate in values of 125 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz and 1000 Hz.

We come to the last section that corresponds to lighting management, we can adjust the color by 16.8 million as it is an RGB system, we can also adjust the level of light brightness and the speed of the breathing effect.

Final words and conclusion about Newskill Renshi Guang

It is time to make a final assessment of the Newskill Renshi Guang mouse, we are dealing with an excellent quality optical mouse that is highly recommended for all users and not just gamers. The quality and accuracy of its sensor go far beyond about 16, 000 DPI which is more of a marketing tool than something really useful, even in multi-monitor setups I doubt that someone needs more than 3000-4000 DPI in most cases.

The design of the mouse is very solid with a body that looks robust and buttons that are also very firm and that show great quality, the use of Omron mechanisms in its main buttons ensures that we will have a mouse for years since these mechanisms hold more 20 million keystrokes, it is certainly a mouse made to last. The design is ergonomic and has been primarily intended for palm grip, it is not a large mouse so users with large hands may not be entirely comfortable with it and may be forced to a fingertip grip.

Finally we talk about the software that offers us excellent options when it comes to configuring its different buttons. In this sense, I think it can be said without mistake that it is one of the most possibilities. Sensor fit is also excellent with the ability to independently configure X and Y axes as well as acceleration and ultrapolling. The lighting section is surely the weakest with only a configurable light effect, breathing.

As a final conclusion we can say that the Newskill Renshi Guang is an excellent optical gaming mouse that offers us many possibilities, it is especially recommended for users with small and medium hands. It is for sale for an approximate price of 50 euros, quite adjusted for everything it offers us.
