Many users expected Vega at 7nm to be a GPU capable of standing up to Nvidia's technology, something that is getting closer to being even half real, after knowing that there will be no Vega-based 7nm gaming products.
AMD does not believe in the possibilities of Vega at 7 nm in the gaming market
According to AMD sources, the Vega 7nm architecture is a product focused on artificial intelligence, a very juicy market in which this architecture can work much better than in the video game sector. Vega based 14nm gaming graphics cards have been a tremendous failure, only cryptocurrency miners have prevented it from filling up with dust in warehouses.

Unfortunately for gamers, there is no 7nm Vega GPU on AMD's gaming roadmap, nor is it planned. Nvidia is slated to launch its Turing architecture later this year, which will see the performance gap between AMD and Nvidia widen further. This is not great news for AMD fans as they will have to wait 2019 to see something really new under the 7nm Navi architecture.
The key to Vega's non-arrival at 7nm in the gaming market would be in the high price of HBM2 memory, AMD knows that this architecture would not sell well, as it is much lower than Nvidia, and the fashion for cryptocurrencies is coming to its End with the first Ethereum-specific ASICs.
