The AMD Vega graphics architecture still has a lot to say in the market, although it is clearly below Nvidia's Volta, it is fair to say that it can offer us very good products over the coming months. The key to this will be the move to a Vega 20 core with a 7nm manufacturing process to improve its energy efficiency.

New AMD Radeon Instinct based on Vega 20 at 7nm this year

Throughout the second half of this year 2018 we will see the arrival of the Vega 20 silicon, which will be the new top of the range for AMD, and will debut the manufacturing process at 7 nm, an important advance compared to the 14 nm of the current GPUs of the company. This new silicon will continue to be accompanied by HBM2 memory, with an amount that would move between 16 and 32 GB with a bandwidth of up to 1 TB / s, something impressive that can only be achieved with this advanced memory. This Vega 20 silicon is also expected to debut the PCI Express 4.0 interface.

Thanks to the move to a manufacturing process at 7nm, the Vega 20 silicon will be able to offer a much higher level of performance without increasing energy consumption compared to the current generation, the new versions are expected to move with a maximum TDP of 300W. Unfortunately, this change will only occur on AMD Radeon Instinct intended for Deep Learning, so we won't see any Vega 20-based gaming at 7nm, at least this year 2018.

This year's Computex 2018 could be the event chosen by AMD to announce the new AMD Radeon Instinct based on vega 20 to 7 nm, we will be attentive to any information.
