We are still talking about Noctua and it is that this firm has become the first manufacturer of air cooling for PC to offer an upgrade kit for its heatsinks for the upcoming AMD AM4 socket.
Noctua prepares you for the AMD AM4 socket
Noctua's new retention kit for AM4 is compatible with all its heatsinks except for the D0 and NH-L9i series, so models with 10 years behind them will be able to cool the new AMD processors for AM4 socket. Noctua will provide its upgrade kit to AM4 free of charge provided proof of purchase is provided.
AM4 will be the socket that houses both the successors of the current FX, the "Summit Ridge" and the future APUs of the company "Bristol Ridge", all based on the promising Zen microarchitecture. A movement that will give greater versatility to the platform and it will allow users to upgrade to a more powerful processor without the need to purchase a new motherboard.
Added to this is the fact that the AM4 socket is expected to have a considerably long life, as is usual in AMD, something that would allow to welcome new generations based on Zen +.
