New i9 comparison

A few days ago a controversy was generated based on the benchmarks published by Intel on the Core i9-9900K, in which Intel allegedly manipulated the data to benefit its processor over the Ryzen 7 2700X. Now, Intel has published a new comparison, where it adds the AMD processor in the 'Game Mode' and 'Creator Mode' modes, as if to clear all doubts.

The difference between the i9-9900K and Ryzen 2700X would be between 10-17% in games

Principled Technologies, which carried out the original benchmark, retested all 19 games used. This time, however, they did well with Ryzen and made sure they were developing to their full potential. As such, in a direct comparison between the i9-9900k and the Ryzen 2700X, the difference, while in Intel's favor, is only around 10-17%. This of course varies slightly depending on the game.

In some areas the Ryzen 2700x is remarkably close in performance numbers. There are a few exceptions to the results that show a much bigger difference in favor of Intel. Taken as a whole, however, it is possible that the i9 series of processors might not be as powerful as we expected. Nor is it an especially significant improvement over the eighth generation.

As we see in the data of two of the games used in the comparison, the i9-9900K hardly improves the figures of an i7-8700K, which does not even reach 5%.

Of course, we are now literally just a few days away from the official launch (October 19), so we will be able to see plenty of analysis to corroborate these results.
