A Chinese informant revealed that Xiaomi is preparing to launch a new series of smartphones called Xiaomi Play on December 24. For now, there is no official confirmation of the existence of this supposed Xiaomi Play, however, the Chinese media are speculating that it could be the renamed version of Poco F1 for China.

Xiaomi Play can be a new device or Pocophone F1 itself

According to a Weibo user, the next range of smartphones will be called Xiaomi Play. The Chinese consumer electronics company will reportedly present the first device in this series, at an event that will take place between December 17-26, and on Christmas Eve will be the alleged leader in terms of launch day.

The use of Play suggests that the smartphone will offer a good gaming experience, a longer battery life and an impressive viewing experience. Probably, it could be the Xiaomi Poco F1 phone, as it is the cheapest Snapdragon 845 chipset smartphone. The Chinese manufacturer has sold more than 700, 000 units of the smartphone in the past three months, a sign of its popularity.

The Poco F1 features a 6.18-inch IPS LCD screen that produces Full HD + resolution. The notch on the phone houses the IR sensor for accurate facial scanning in low light conditions. It comes with up to 8GB of RAM and internal storage of up to 256GB, all backed by a 4, 000mAh battery. For photography, it features a 20-megapixel camera on the front, and features a dual 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel rear camera setup.
