The ufs 3.0 standard is announced for new top-of-the-range smartphones
Table of contents:
JEDEC has announced the new UFS 3.0 standard that will allow the creation of a high-speed storage medium for new generations of mobile devices, especially smarpthones.
UFS 3.0 Features
UFS 3.0 will double the bandwidth offered by the current UFS 2.1 memory, so we will have a new generation of devices capable of accessing the stored data much faster, something important since each time the files we save are more heavy. This memory will use a voltage of 2.5V, lower than the 2.7-3.6V of the UFS 2.1, so the energy efficiency will also be higher.

The UFS 3.0 memory will offer a bandwidth of 23.2 Gbps thanks to the use of two channels, a very considerable leap compared to UFS 2.1, which when using only one channel complies with a speed of 11.6 Gbps. Not only is speed improved, the new memory will be able to withstand temperatures of up to 105ºC, so it can be used in devices that generate a lot of heat. Finally, an error log is added to improve its reliability.
It is not yet known when it will be available so we will have to wait to see the first devices that implement it.
