The manufacturer of networking devices and NAS has presented at Computex 2019 some updates to its applications for the QTS operating system and new applications focused on security. We tell you all these news below.

Almost complete reform of Hybrid Backup Sync 3

The first novelty it brings is a very deep reform on the Hybrid Backup Sync 3 software.

In this, two very interesting features have been added, and the first one is QuDedup, which allows us to duplicate the files at source to obtain better information redundancy against storage failures. In addition, encryption has been added on the client side, all this to allow us to make faster and more private backups, always providing clients with a second datacenter due to the duplication of that data at the source.

The new security is the inclusion of the synchronization tool across all computers and that synchronizes with the Qnap cloud. In this way we can access this synchronized information through any type of equipment connected to the network, always passing through the NAS.

New QuMagic 1.1 tool

It is basically the evolution of the well-known QPhotos adapted to new biometric detection and location technologies. What does this imply? Well, it includes facial recognition, object recognition and even places.

In this way, if the user intends to search for any photograph in the data warehouse, all they need is a keyword to start the search. In this way the application will search within the photograph what type of content there is.

QVR Face monitoring tool with real-time facial recognition

Well, this tool is oriented to use for video surveillance stations, for example, with QVR Pro to perform facial recognition of users and people who interact at a certain time.

The application will detect the surveillance camera and from there we can create a database with the profiles of people that it has detected and recognized. Qnap makes special reference to the new legislature regarding check-in in companies, where this application will be able to detect when the worker enters and leaves his job, having time of entry, exit and the time he has been inside.

Sometimes technology can make a great impression on us, especially when it comes to privacy and personal space, getting into even the deepest, we always hope to benefit us. Do you think it will also track our pets?
