A new malware, dubbed MobSTSPY, has managed to sneak into some applications within Google Play. In this way, it has caused thousands of users on Android to have been infected by it. According to some estimates, some 100, 000 users would be affected, out of a total of 196 countries. Although it is not ruled out that this figure will increase soon.

This malware managed to sneak into applications like copies of Flappy Bird and other emulators. For now it is not known if it was already present from the beginning in the same or if it was introduced after any update.

Therefore, it obtains data such as the country of registration and the manufacturer. They are also capable of stealing SMS or WhatsApp messages, the contact list, screenshots or audio recordings. Another of its capabilities is to initiate phishing attacks on the device.
They deceive users into believing that they have to log into Google or Facebook. In this way they obtain the credentials of these people. These apps have already been removed, including Flappy Birr Dog, FlashLight, HZPermis Pro Arabe, Win7imulator and Win7 Launcher.
