New performance test of vega 10 in 3dmark firestrike

A sample of VEGA 10 engineering has been detected in the 3DMark Firestrike application database, which is the quintessential tool for testing the performance of graphics cards. In the database we can fully see the characteristics of this graphics card that fully match VEGA 10, this device was identified with the code name 687F: C1, which works with 8GB of HBM2 video memory and a GPU with a speed of 1200MHz.

A new engineering sample comes to light

During January of this year we had already seen tests of an AMD VEGA engineering sample, the earliest sample on record and now it seems that AMD is returning to the arena by retesting a more advanced sample.

VEGA 10: Result in 3DMark Firestrike

The performance of this VEGA 10 graph gave a result of 17805 points in 3DMark Firestrike, about 1400 points above the R9 Fury X and a few points below the GTX 1070, something that is striking but has several explanations.

According to the information that came out a few days ago, AMD is preparing three variants of VEGA 10 and the one we have here could be the most modest of them all. In addition, the 1200MHz frequency seems to be very low compared to the recent RX 580 that exceeds 1400MHz on its GPU, this would be affecting overall performance without question.

What does seem clear is that AMD has VEGA graphics cards in hand that seem to be on par with Nvidia's Pascal GPUs and even surpassing them, which is excellent news for us.
