New benchmarks provided by the videocardz site have been revealed and with it give us a better idea of what the launch of the new Nvidia GTX 1080 would mean, the new top of the range graphics card from the green manufacturer that will storm the market on May 27.

The tests were conducted with 3DMark 11 and the latest 3DMark Firestrike released late last year and currently representing the most demanding synthetic test for DirectX 11-based graphics cards.

GTX 1080 Results

As can be seen in the results with 3DMark 11 and Firestrike in the different configurations, the GeForece GTX 1080 manages to beat the TITAN X with even less memory. While the TITAN X has 12GB of memory, the GTX 1080 doesn't need as much and "only" has 8GB, but it still gets up to 20% more performance in 3DMark tests.

The tests have been carried out with the specifications in stock, no frequencies have been touched on any of the graphics cards of this comparison, the TITAN X, GTX 980 Ti and even the graphics of the competition AMD Radeon R9 Fury and Fury X, who have 30% below the results obtained by the GTX 1080.

Of course, such performance will have its cost, about 699 euros is what will have to be disbursed in order to have in our hands the most powerful graphics card on the market. The question the tech world is asking at the moment is, will AMD VEGA be powerful enough to compete against this? We will know in a short time.
