The announcement of the new generation of AMD Navi GPUs is very close and very juicy details about their specifications begin to come out. While the announcement is scheduled for May 27, an image of what appears to be the new generation of Radeon Navi-based graphics cards has been leaked.

PCB image reveals 8GB of GDDR6 memory and 256-bit interface

The alleged PCB appears to be from a high-end graphics card based on the 7nm Navi GPU. It's certainly not an entry-level graphics card based on the specs we're looking at and could be a suitable replacement for the current RX 580 and RX 590 series.

Around the GPU, we can detect BGA for 8 DRAM packets. Looking closely, the BGA package size is 180, which means this card will use GDDR6 memory, making it the first AMD card to use that new standard of memory.

Same memory configuration as RTX 2070/2080

The 8 DRAM packets also confirm a 256-bit interface for the bus, showing that this card would be placed in the range of NVIDIA's RTX 2070, which also has a 256-bit, 8GB GDDR6 bus interface.. Only the front of the PCB has the BGA packages which suggest that the card would have 8GB of VRAM since the back of the PCB cannot be used for additional DRAM placement.

In terms of power supply, the card has an 8-phase VRM and power is supplied through two PCIe connectors. The cutouts are for 8-pin connectors, but it depends on the manufacturers in the configuration they want, 6 or 8 pins.

Based on this PCB there is very little we can say about the Navi's raw performance, other than comparing the memory configuration of the card with NVIDIA's RTX series. This PCB does not confirm the size of the Navi matrix, and beyond that, we have no idea what changes have been made to the architecture with respect to Vega. We will leave doubts in the coming weeks.
