Jon Peddie Research just released the GPU sales results for the third quarter of 2017. The latest results show that NVIDIA has increased its market share relative to AMD exponentially.

NVIDIA, AMD and Intel increase their sales

According to the report, total shipments of desktop GPUs increased 9.3% compared to the previous quarter including all involved, NVIDIA, AMD and Intel. Noting the annual trend, desktop graphics increased 2%, while notebook shipments decreased 6%. The reason for the desktop-side gain is primarily attributed to the increased demand for gaming and cryptocurrency graphics cards, which has been causing a stir lately.

Thus, NVIDIA and AMD supplied more GPUs than usual. Once again, the gaming PC segment has become a turning point for the entire graphics card market in the last quarter.
