Nvidia has stepped up to confirm that its graphics cards are not affected by Specter, the protection in its drivers has been included as a measure to protect users from processors sensitive to this security flaw.

The Geforce Experience application interacts with the operating system kernel to request the user's password and email data, this moment can be exploited by hackers to exploit the Specter vulnerability. Nvidia does not want to put its users at risk and that is why it has included in its new drivers a measure of protection against Specter.

Our GPUs are immune. They are not affected by these security issues. What we did was release driver updates to patch the CPU security vulnerability. We are fixing the CPU vulnerability in the same way that Amazon, SAP and in the same way that Microsoft and others are patching, because we also have software. I am absolutely sure that our GPUs are not affected.

With this it is clear that the Nvidia update comes to take precautions and protect users from the security hole that has been found in current processors, mainly from Intel.
