The new generation of NVIDIA is here! The company has already presented the new generation of graphics cards, and one of them is the top-of-the-range model: the RTX 2080 Ti is already here, let's meet it.

NVIDIA Geforce RTX 2080 Ti unveiled at Gamescom 2018 and pre-ordering

After showing you the RTX 2080, it's up to its highest-end sister: the Geforce RTX 2080 Ti. Ray tracing has been the leading technology in this #BeForTheGame presentation of Gamescom 2018, and in this respect the RTX 2080 Ti continues to be at the forefront in this regard, as expected, with a speed of 10 giga rays per second, obviously the fastest in the range in this regard, beating the € 60, 000 DGX supercomputer, which had been announced by NVIDIA in March.

We recommend reading our article: What graphics card do I buy?

Again, the memories are kept in the same amount as the predecessor, the GTX 1080 Ti, but the use of GDDR6 technology offers a significant boost, and its frequency already reaches 14 gigabits per second, with a bandwidth of up to 616 gigabytes per second (GB / s).

The new graphics makes use of 4352 CUDA cores and has a consumption of 260W, compared to 250W for the 1080 Ti, so in this case there is no great rise in consumption compared to the last generation. The Founders Edition version makes use of 2 8-pin power connectors.

As already explained, we have a USB Type-C connector for virtual reality, which will be responsible for feeding and giving image to future VR headsets. It also makes use of NVLink, the NVIDIA replacement for the SLI system.

The new graphics cards can now be reserved and this RTX 2080 Ti has a presale price of 1, 259 euros.

Shipments are expected from September 20.

We already know that these graphics will have a great performance with ray tracing technology, the great novelty of the generation, but… What is the improvement without counting this technology? Does it justify the price increase? The only performance jump that NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang has made clear is that of ray tracing operations, with his own data called "RTX-OPS". We will keep you informed of what happens.

In the meantime, you can find the specifications of this graphics card on the official NVIDIA website.
