Nvidia announced this morning the technical specifications and performance of its two new flagships: Nvidia GTX 1080 and the Nvidia GTX 1070. In one of the first uploaded devices they have seen how it destroys the GTX 1080 to a SLI of GTX 1080.

Nvidia GTX 1080 all its features

The Nvidia GTX 1080 mounts Pascal's GP104 chip manufactured by TSMC under the 16nm FinFET + process. It will have 8GB of 2500 MHz GDDR5X memory (10 GHz real) and a bandwidth of 320 GB / s.

The base frequency of the processor starts with an incredible 1607 MHz and goes up through Boost to 1733 MHz, we are talking about the reference model… Manufacturers will launch their custom models and do not be surprised to find a boost frequency of 2 GHz… It is completed by a greater number of phases that the rest of generations and 2560 CUDA Cores.

As expected, it will have DirectX 12, OpenGL 4.5 and Vulkan support.

Dimensions and a new heatsink

It is surprising that the top-of-the-range graphics card on the market only has a maximum length of 26.67 cm. It also has a single 8-pin PCI connector and the following rear connections: 3 x DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.0b and a dual-range DVI.

As we announced several weeks ago, the new heatsink will have a very renewed design. With much simpler lines but just as effective as the previous reference model. It will also have a backplate in black and a TDP of 180W.

We recommend reading the best graphics cards on the market. (Coming soon with the new Pascal Models).

Another of its innovations is its new SLI HB system that increases bandwidth and data transfer between cards. We will test it! Do not worry!

GTX 1080 faster than two GTX 980 on SLI

Surprise, surprise! Who expected that the GTX 1080 would have the power of two GTX 980s? Not even the most optimistic! It has caught everyone by surprise and the first GTX 980 and GTX 980 Ti cards have started to be seen in the second-hand market at a devastating price (400 euros). The thing promises and we hope to be among the first to try them.

Price and availability

Well, according to these slides, its official launch is on May 27 and at a price of $ 599, which will be about 650 to 675 euros (including customs and other paperwork), so its price is devastating.

Knowing this… Will you change or wait to see performance over the network? What do you think of this new GTX 1080? We will continue to have our fantastic GTX 980 Ti to compare from you to you.
