According to TweakTown sources, NVIDIA may unveil its next generation of 7nm Ampere graphics cards at the GTC 2019, which will take place next week. Ampere and Turing caused quite a bit of confusion in the lead up to Turing and RTX, but we now know that Ampere is NVIDIA's 7nm GPU.

7nm Ampere would be present at the GTC 2019

Considering that AMD has already released 7nm Vega (Radeon VII), the GTC would be the perfect time for the company to showcase its next GPU with this node as well.

The GTC 2019 is an NVIDIA show to literally showcase its new technological exploits, an ideal venue to showcase your next series of graphics cards at 7nm. Ampere (as of this writing) is the code name that NVIDIA uses for its 7nm GPU.

This year AMD will unveil its new 7nm Navi graphics architecture, in fact I have already unveiled the VEGA based 7nm Radeon VII, so NVIDIA is feeling some pressure to make the leap to the new node. Recall that the Turing series is built under a 12nm FinFET node, which is being enough at the moment to have the crown of performance with the RTX 2080 Ti on desktop.

The GTC 2019 event will begin this March 18, where NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang will be present. There we should expect news, not only from Ampere, but from other new technologies that have to do with deep learning, automated tasks, IoT, etc. We will keep you informed.
