We have new information that could point to the announcement of new Nvidia graphics cards this summer, as the company has quoted the mainstream media for the Gamescom event that will take place between August 21-25 in Germany. Nowhere does the invitation mention the new GeForce series or the new hardware. What is promised is the practical presentation of the latest PC games.

Nvidia is already preparing a press event at Gamescom, possible announcement of the new Turing architecture

Much is being said in the last weeks of the arrival of new Nvidia graphics cards based on the Turing architecture, of which nothing is known for certain today. Turing would be Pascal's successor architecture, which came more than two years ago, and which has been leading the sector in both performance and energy efficiency. There is talk that Turing would make the leap into the manufacturing process at TSMC's 12nm FinFET, a small step up from Pascal's 16/14nm.

Nvidia is not the only one starting to move, as AMD is also preparing an event in late July. Sunnyvale's are known to be finalizing their second-generation Ryzen Threadripper processors, though the new quad-core Ryzen 3 may also be announced. Nor can we forget the new Vega silicons manufactured at 7 nm, although these will not reach the gaming market, but are reserved for artificial intelligence.

For now we can only wait to see what finally happens, Micron has recently started mass production of its GDDR6 memories, so a hypothetical announcement of new GeForce cards in August would be on paper, their availability in stores not expected until the third quarter of the year or end of September at the earliest.

When do you think the new GeForce will arrive? What do you expect from Turing architecture?
